LEARN MORE ABOUT EDUCATION & THERAPY PROGRAM
ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS
When our founders, Jeremiah Kuria and Zane Wilemon, met in Maai Mahiu twenty years ago, they found children with special needs cared for only by their single mothers, mistreated, and secluded. Our Children's Wellness Center was established to combat stigma and injustice and provide therapy, education, and vocational training for children with special needs in the region. The stigma and lack of understanding surrounding special needs in Kenya leads to minimal access to essential services and limited opportunities for social inclusion, resulting in numerous social and economic issues that ultimately deny children with special needs a life of dignity.
WHAT WE DO
Individualized Learning
We realize that every child we serve has different abilities, needs, and learning styles. That's why we have individualized learning plans and assessments for all our students.
School Lunch Program
As food prices continue to increase throughout Kenya, we ensure that all our students have access to healthy and nutritious lunches. Our Nutritionist conducts individualized assessments for each of our students to provide the meal plans best fit every individual's needs.
Therapy Progam
The Ubuntu Life Foundation has two full-time Occupational Therapists on staff that assist children in our school program and the surrounding communities. We currently have over 68 full-time clients in our therapy program and hope to grow that number in the coming year.

ISRAEL
Israel is a shy, but warm and affectionate 14 year old. Once you bond, you are tethered to his heart. He comes alive when listening to music. You can often find him dancing and humming along to the beat of a song. Although Israel was timid when he first joined us, he has gained the courage to make friends with his peers and teachers.
WHAT WE DO
HEALTHCARE
The Ubuntu Life Foundation Clinic employs the only doctor in the town of Maai Mahiu. From our Neuro Program to general patients and more, we see over 1,000 children annually.

In Kenya, less than 25% of school-age children with disabilities will receive educational services. Your donation will help bring specialized education to those who may otherwise have nowhere else to turn.
