Kids August Holiday.

After our visit to Wendo Camp, the children headed home for their month-long holiday. While we were sad to see them go, we were thrilled that they would have the opportunity to spend quality time with their families. However, we soon realized that the extended break posed challenges for some of our students' families.

During our home visits over the years, we discovered that some children relied solely on the meals provided at Ubuntu for their daily sustenance. If they did not attend school, they risked going hungry. This situation not only affected their physical well-being but also hindered their progress in school and therapy, which required a nutritious diet.

To address this issue, we identified 65 families facing food insecurity and were able to provide them with food packages to last them through the holiday. The parents expressed their gratitude for this support, emphasizing how much it meant to their families. This experience served as a powerful reminder to our team to appreciate the blessings we often take for granted.

As the children returned to school in the final week of August, we eagerly anticipated the new semester and the opportunities it would bring for our incredible students.
