Maximizing the School Feeding Program with Fresh Organic Farm Produce.

In Kenya, a developing nation, poverty, limited access to nutritious food, and inadequate healthcare infrastructure contribute to high rates of malnutrition hindering cognitive development. Given that our school kids spend a significant portion of their day at school, most if not all of their daily meals are eaten here at Ubuntu. By ensuring access to nutritious meals, our school has enhanced learners' enrollment, attendance, and academic performance, ultimately contributing to their overall well-being.
The farm has significantly improved the nutritional diversity of school meals, offering a variety of fruits, vegetables, and animal protein that are often lacking in other school feeding programs. Currently, the farm supplies more than 80% of the fresh produce consumed by our kids. To further enhance our school feeding program and promote sustainable agriculture, we are seeking support to address the challenges limiting our farm's productivity. By expanding the farm's space, investing in essential resources, and providing training in organic farming practices, we can significantly increase our capacity to produce fresh, nutritious food for our students.
Your generous contribution whether monetary or in better organic farming practices will enable us to create a self-sustaining agricultural model that benefits not only our school feeding program but also the broader local community.
